This event is open to runners who have a disability which leads to a loss of physical, vision, hearing, intellectual disability, or other which disadvantages them to compete alongside their non-disabled peers. With this concept, the focus is on achieving personal bests and encouraging activity. The extent of the runner’s disability (and Athletes with Disabilities eligible impairment type) is irrelevant, so long as there is a disability of some sort which disadvantages them to some extent. Placings are based on who crosses the finish first regardless of disability type or extent.
